Bloomberg: U.S. administration asks Congress for $6.4 billion because of events in Ukraine

The US administration has requested an additional $6.4 billion from Congress to provide aid to Ukraine and a number of other countries, as well as for the needs of the Pentagon. This was reported by Bloomberg agency on Friday.

It is assumed that $2.9 billion of this amount will be used to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine, as well as assistance to Kiev in the field of security, the authorities of the Baltic States, Poland and a number of other states.

The funds are intended for stabilization of the economic situation and purchase of food. According to the plan, $3.5 billion will be allocated for the needs of the Pentagon in connection with the events in Ukraine.

The corresponding request of the U.S. administration is likely to be supported by lawmakers from both parties.
