HBO plans to release a Game of Thrones sequel about Jon Snow
HBO is planning a sequel to the Game of Thrones series, 2011-2019, focused entirely on its character Jon Snow. This was reported by The Hollywood Reporter magazine.
Kit Harington, who has been nominated twice for an Emmy Award for his role as Jon Snow, is expected to star in the project.
The new series could “fundamentally flip” the finale of Game of Thrones, the most popular project in HBO history and winner of a record number of Emmy awards. Other characters who survived the original series may return in the sequel, including Arya Stark, Sansa Stark and Brienne of Tarth.
“Game of Thrones” premiered on HBO in 2011, and the final (eighth) season was released in 2019. The picture was based on George Martin’s cycle of novels “A Song of Ice and Flame,” the first of which was released in 1996. In addition to Keith Harington, the series starred Emilia Clarke, Macy Williams, Peter Dinklage, and Lena Headey.
