U.S. Will Provide $64 Million for Humanitarian Work in Afghanistan

The United States is allocating $64 million to provide humanitarian aid to Afghanistan. U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield said Monday, speaking by video link at a donor conference on Afghanistan.

“I am proud to announce today that the U.S. is providing about $64 million in a new tranche of humanitarian aid. This money will support the work of the UN, including the Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees, the World Health Organization, and other nongovernmental organizations,” she said.
