U.S. and Germany launch energy partnership
U.S. President Joe Biden and German Chancellor Angela Merkel decided to launch the U.S.-German climate and energy partnership after talks.
“We are launching a climate and energy partnership to strengthen our climate ambitions and deepen our cooperation on policy and sustainable technologies,” according to the White House website.
Washington and Berlin intend to strengthen bilateral cooperation on combating global climate change.
Second, the parties plan to expand cooperation on “the development and implementation of critical energy technologies.”
In addition, the U.S. and Germany intend to work together to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy in emerging economies, while promoting the fight against climate change and preventing “the use of energy as a tool of coercion.
It has been noted that the United States and Germany intend to undertake similar efforts to help the countries with the most significant emissions in South and Southeast Asia, as well as in Ukraine.
