U.S. Air Force helicopter made an emergency landing in Bucharest

A U.S. Air Force helicopter made an emergency landing in downtown Bucharest on Thursday, without casualties, the Romanian Defense Ministry press office said.

“We regret the incident that occurred Thursday, July 15, with a U.S. Air Force helicopter that made an emergency landing in Charles de Gaulle Square in Bucharest. The pilot managed to control the helicopter to avoid casualties,” according to a message posted on the Romanian Defense Ministry’s Facebook page.

The ministry noted that the helicopter, along with other aircraft participated in the rehearsal for the performance on Aviation Day – July 20. The Ministry of Defense stressed that they would take measures to prevent such an incident from happening again.
