Trump has raised more than $9 million in campaign donations since his formal arrest

Former US President Donald Trump, who is running for the highest office in the country, after passing the formal procedure of arrest in the state of Georgia collected more than $9.4 million in campaign donations.

On August 24, Trump was in the Fulton County jail for about 20 minutes, where he underwent a formal arrest procedure in the case of interference in the elections. After that, a photo of the former American leader taken during the procedure was published.

Trump after that collected more than $9.4 million, as a result of which the amount of funds for the campaign for August amounted to more than $20 million. After the formal arrest, Trump increased the sales of souvenirs. Thus, 36 thousand T-shirts with a photo made in prison were sold, which brought the politician more than $1.7 million. The campaign headquarters also sold 24 thousand coffee mugs and 8.6 thousand bags with this photo.

The former US leader went through a formal arrest procedure at the Fulton County jail in the case of interference in the 2020 election. Trump was released from custody, after which he made a post on social network X for the first time since 2021, publishing his prison photo in a blue suit, white shirt and red tie. The photo is accompanied by the captions “never give up” and “election interference.”

The incumbent US leader Joe Biden, who is seeking re-election, raised about $72 million in campaign donations in the second quarter of this year. The publication then specified that Trump managed to raise $35 million in the second quarter, and about $18 million in the first quarter.
