Trump called the Taliban parade with U.S. military equipment a "sad spectacle
Former U.S. President Donald Trump called the Taliban’s display of U.S. military equipment at a parade in Kabul “a sad sight.”
“The big military parade that the Taliban held, showing off $85 billion worth of U.S. equipment that was surrendered to them, was a very sad sight. The way the withdrawal from Afghanistan was conducted was the strongest disgrace in the history of our country,” he pointed out in a statement Wednesday.
The Taliban held a military parade in Kabul on Monday showing off military equipment left behind by the Americans or seized from the country’s previous government. The former U.S. president has repeatedly criticized current President Joe Biden for the way the troop withdrawal from Afghanistan has been handled.
