The leader in the number of Grammy nominations is Taylor Swift

Singers Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift and other performers will claim the Grammy music award in the main category of “Record of the Year”. This is reported on the award’s website.

Miley Cyrus received a nomination for the song Flowers, Billie Eilish – for What Was I Made For? (soundtrack from the movie “Barbie”), Taylor Swift is a contender for the Grammy with the song Anti-Hero. Along with them, John Batis, the band Boygenius, Victoria Monet and SZA (real name Solana Imani Rowe) are among the nominees.

The Album of the Year category also features Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey and Miley Cyrus. The Best Visual Media Song category features four songs from the movie Barbie, with the fifth competitor being a song from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Songs from such films as “Barbie,” “Oppenheimer,” “Indiana Jones and the Wheel of Fate” and “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” will compete for the title of “Best Soundtrack.”

In total, nominees were submitted in 94 categories. Leading the nominations was Taylor Swift, who is nominated in six categories, with Lana Del Rey nominated in five categories.

The idea of establishing a recording award in the United States was first proposed in the mid-1950s when the first candidates were selected to install stars on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood. In 1957, the National Academy of Recording Arts and Techniques was founded in the United States. This organization established an award called the Grammy in 1958.

The first Grammy ceremony was held on May 4, 1959. It was held in parallel in Los Angeles and New York. Awards were given in more than 20 categories for musical achievements of the previous year.
