The Bertone brand returns with a hypercar powered by plastic waste

The history of the car parts manufacturer Bertone goes back more than a hundred years – it was one of the oldest Italian companies that developed innovative car bodies. After the bankruptcy in 2014 and redistribution of ownership rights, the current owners of the brand decided to revive it in a new format. And for the presentation of the upgrade they created a unique hypercar, which does not generate emissions into the atmosphere.

Contrary to expectations, the GB110 model does not have an electric engine, but an upgraded internal combustion engine. Its peculiarity is that it runs on synthetic fuel from Select Fuel, which is made from plastic waste. The technology is still experimental, but promising – it makes it possible to recycle a lot of waste and simultaneously save a proportional amount of gasoline, and therefore oil.

True, it is not quite clear how Bertone intends to supply its future customers with this fuel. However, since it is suitable for almost all internal combustion engines, the opposite is also true – the hypercar will be able to drive on regular gasoline. True, its flow rate is unknown, and in general at the moment no characteristics of the new car, except for speed are unveiled. The top speed is about 235 mph. About the cost of hypercar and the beginning of its production data is not available yet.
