Stephen Bannon sentenced to four months in prison

A federal court in the District of Columbia Circuit on Friday sentenced political consultant Stephen Bannon, formerly a senior adviser to 45th U.S. President Donald Trump, to four months in prison for contempt of Congress. According to Judge Carl Nichols’ ruling, Bannon will be required to pay an additional $6,500 fine.

“The disregard for congressional subpoenas demonstrates a lack of respect for the legislature. Bannon is sentenced to four months in prison and a $6,500 fine on two counts of contempt of Congress,” said Nichols, who was nominated by Trump when he was president.
