Pentagon announced a new military aid package for Ukraine

The U.S. Defense Department has announced a new defense assistance package for Ukraine to meet Kiev’s critical security needs.

The $400 million package includes additional ammunition for high-mobility artillery rocket systems (HIMARS), 155-mm, 105-mm and 25-mm caliber artillery rounds, tank bridge breakers, demolition and obstacle course equipment, vehicle maintenance and repair inspection and diagnostic equipment, spare parts and other field equipment.

“This week, as Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine continues with heavy losses, we are reminded once again of the boundless courage and unwavering resolve of the people of Ukraine, as well as the strong support of the international community for Ukraine,” said Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. – The United States also continues to rally the world in support of Ukraine. We have seen incredible solidarity from our allies and partners. We applaud the efforts of more than 50 countries that have united in solidarity with Ukraine to support the defense of its sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

“Only Russia can end the war today. Until Russia does, we will stand united with Ukraine for as long as it takes and strengthen its armed forces on the battlefield so that Ukraine takes the strongest possible position at the negotiating table,” Blinken said in welcoming the transfer of a new aid package to Ukraine.
