Netflix Pays $10 Million For A Documentary On Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

According to Business Insider, Netflix bought the rights to the international screening of the documentary film “Knock Down the House” where one of the main characters is the youngest US Congresswoman – Alexandria Ocasio-Cortes. According to the publication, the transaction amounted to ten million dollars. 
The plot will focus on the stories of four candidates who conducted their political campaigns during the midterm elections in the United States in 2018. The world premiere of the film took place at the Sundance Festival, where it received positive critics’ acclaim. 
Deadline notes that right after the show, Focus Features, Hulu and Amazon were interested in the rights to the tape, but only Netflix managed to buy them. However, the streaming service does not yet disclose the release date of the film on its platform.
