Mike Pence has announced his withdrawal from the presidential race

Former American Vice President Mike Pence decided to suspend his participation in the election race. He stated this during a speech in Las Vegas (Nevada).

“After traveling around the country for the past six months, I came here to say: it has become clear to me that this is not my time,” he said. “I have decided to suspend my campaign for the presidency as of today,” Pence indicated. He sought the nomination for the U.S. presidential candidacy from the Republican Party in the 2024 elections.

Pence assured that he “will never stop fighting for conservative values.” “And I will never stop fighting to elect principled Republican leaders to every elected office in the country,” he added. “We always knew it would be an unequal fight. But I have no regrets,” the politician said. He did not express unequivocal support for anyone in the presidential race.

Pence entered the race for the presidency in June. According to opinion polls, he failed to gain significant support from voters. The favorite in the race for the nomination of the presidential candidate from the Republicans is the previous American leader Donald Trump. His rivals include Florida Governor Ron Desantis, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy. Pence served as vice president in the Trump administration from 2017 to 2021.
