London's Park Row restaurant invites you to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of DC Comics
A Park Row restaurant has opened in the British capital that promises to transport visitors to the fictional Gotham. The interior, the set of services, the atmosphere – everything here is imbued with traces of the confrontation between Batman and numerous villains from the DC universe. But true fans of comics are in for a disappointment – people in superhero costumes or with relevant attributes won’t even be allowed to enter the restaurant.
Park Row is meant to be a respectable place for serious and well-to-do people who want to experience the magic of a fictional world. The tasting menu costs from $275, tables need to be reserved in advance, and they accept no more than 40 diners per day, in four sessions.
Inside, there are many references to various characters and events from the comic book world, some of which are hidden and are revealed as you complete simple quests. The layman is unlikely to admire the glowing staircase, which is a reference to the descent into the Batcave, and will be surprised by the crushed blue-colored fish on his plate, a reference to the story of the poisoning of Gotham Harbor by the insidious Joker. On the other hand, the cuisine from a Michelin-starred chef and the general atmosphere of glamour and mystique will appeal even to people uninitiated in comic books.
