In Norway, four people were dead in a military exercise as a result of the crash of a U.S. plane
Four people were dead when a U.S. V-22 Osprey plane crashed in Norway during Cold Response, an international military exercise taking place there. Norwegian police reported this on Saturday.
“Unfortunately, it is confirmed that all four people on board were killed. Police know they are all Americans,” the report said.
Police have opened an investigation into what happened. Work at the crash site has been suspended due to bad weather.
Large-scale international exercises Cold Response began in Norway on March 14. This is the largest maneuver under its leadership since the 1980s, noted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country. About 30 thousand military men from 27 countries including Finland and Sweden (NATO partners) are taking part in them. The exercise will last until April 2 and will be held in several stages: some of them will take place in the Norwegian Sea, others in the territory of northern and central Norway.
