Google will change the search engine before the US election

The Google search engine will adjust the AutoFill of the search bar before the US election, the company said in a blog post.

“We have expanded our policy on autocomplete in respect of the election. We will remove assumptions that can be interpreted as statements in support of or against a particular candidate or political party. We will also remove assumptions that can be interpreted as statements regarding participation in elections, ” the company said in a statement.

Also, the search engine will not offer users possible search phrases related to the legitimacy of elections and their security.

“In practice, this means that suggestions like “you can vote by phone” or “you can’t vote by phone” or predictions starting with the words “donate” to any party or candidate should not appear in autocomplete, ” the report says.

Google reminds that users can search for anything they want, regardless of what the search engine tells them.
