European Union imposes entry restrictions from the U.S. due to COVID-19 situation

The EU has removed five countries, including the U.S., from the list of states with which it is recommended to open the union’s external borders due to a worsening epidemiological situation caused by an increase in the incidence of coronavirus, the statement said.

“The EU Council has updated the list of countries for which travel restrictions should be lifted. In particular, Israel, Kosovo, Lebanon, Montenegro, North Macedonia and the U.S. have been removed from the list,” the document said.

Until recently, the EU list included 23 states.
