Bill Gates wrote a book called How to Prevent the Next Pandemic

Microsoft founder Bill Gates wrote a book called How to Prevent the Next Pandemic. In it, he described steps by which future pandemics could be avoided and better health care could be provided for all people on the planet.

“I’ve been following COVID-19 since its inception, working with experts from the Gates Foundation and outside experts who advocate for a fairer response and have been fighting infectious diseases for decades. In the course of that work, I’ve learned a lot about both the pandemic and how to prevent the next one, and I want to share that knowledge with people. So I started writing a book about how we can make sure no one else suffers because of a pandemic,” Gates wrote in his blog on Tuesday.

In the book, he talks about the lessons humanity can learn from the coronavirus pandemic, the innovations needed to save lives, and the tools needed to stop the spread of pathogens in time. In addition, Gates will talk about his conversations with Anthony Fauci, director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and Tedros Adanom Gebreyesus, director general of the World Health Organization (WHO).

The book is expected to be published May 3.
