Biden's assistant who accompanied him to Europe contracted the coronavirus
One of U.S. President Joe Biden’s aides who accompanied him on a European tour has tested positive for the coronavirus. This was reported Thursday by Bloomberg news agency.
The infected aide and several members of the president’s staff remained in Glasgow, where Biden was speaking at the 26th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26).
The aide is currently quarantined and awaiting the results of a PCR test. The U.S. administration believes he had no contact with the president at the event.
Last week, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki also contracted the coronavirus and did not fly to Europe with Biden. As a precaution, the U.S. chief of staff tested negative for the coronavirus.
