Biden to receive South Korea's president on April 26

President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden will receive South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol and his wife, Kim Gong-hee, who will make a state visit to the United States on April 26.

The upcoming visit marks the 70th anniversary of the U.S.-Korea alliance, which is critical to promoting peace, stability and prosperity for our two countries, the Indo-Pacific region and the world.

The U.S. and South Korean leaders will discuss further expanding political, economic and security ties and people-to-people relations between the two countries, the statement said. They will emphasize “the importance and strength of the unbreakable alliance between the United States and the Republic of Korea.”

As noted, this will be the second state visit under the administration of U.S. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
