Biden stated that the U.S. is not going back to lockdowns because of Omicron
The United States does not intend to return to the practice of imposing lockdowns and school closures due to the spread of the omicron strain of coronavirus in the country. U.S. President Joe Biden said this at a press conference at the White House.
“The bottom line on COVID-19 is that we are in a better position than we have been so far, clearly better than we were a year ago. We’re not going to go back to lockdowns. We’re not going to go back to closing schools. Schools need to stay open,” Biden said, recalling that authorities have allocated $130 billion to take measures to combat the spread of the new coronavirus in schools, which would keep them open.
