Biden ordered U.S. flags lowered in memory of Maine shooting victims

US President Joe Biden has ordered American flags to be lowered in memory of the victims of the shooting in Lewiston, ME. This is stated in a proclamation released on Thursday by the White House press service.

According to the document, flags over the White House and other US government agencies, as well as US diplomatic missions and military bases abroad, will remain lowered “until sundown on October 30.”

Earlier, Biden in a telephone conversation with Maine Governor Janet Mills, Senators from this state Angus King and Susan Collins and Congressman Jared Golden offered the assistance of the federal government in connection with the shooting in Lewiston.
