Apollo Global may provide a loan to buy Twitter
Apollo Global Management is considering assisting in an attempt to acquire Twitter. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal on Monday.
Apollo could provide the credit needed for the bid to Ilon Musk, who previously offered more than $41 billion for Twitter, or other possible buyers. Apollo is also exploring a partnership between Yahoo, which it owns, and Twitter.
Musk, who recently became Twitter’s largest shareholder, has offered to buy the social network operator of the same name for $41.39 billion. Twitter’s board of directors intends to carefully review the offer to determine the course of action that would best serve the company and its shareholders.
According to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Musk owns 9.2 percent of Twitter. On April 11, he decided not to join the company’s board of directors.
