Twitter no longer exists as a separate company
NEW YORK, April 11.
Twitter Corporation, which owns the social network of the same name, has effectively ceased to exist as an independent company following its merger with X Corp. Ilon Musk.
Pursuant to Federal Rules of Civil Procedure 7.1, the undersigned counsel for defendant X Corp. as successor to defendant Twitter, Inc. states that Twitter, Inc. was merged into X Corp. and no longer exists.
The actual merger of the companies occurred on April 4. In addition, the corporation is now based in Nevada instead of Delaware, where Twitter’s main office was previously registered.
On October 27, 2022, Musk closed a $44 billion deal to acquire Twitter, the company that owns the social network of the same name. On Nov. 6, he announced his intention to introduce paid account verification as part of his Twitter Blue subscription. On November 10, the sale of the subscription was suspended due to the growing number of fake accounts, but in December sales of Twitter Blue were resumed, but only for users in Australia, Britain, Canada, New Zealand and the United States.
