Most Republicans polled are willing to support Trump in the U.S. election

Former U.S. President Donald Trump is the most preferred candidate among Republicans in the fight for the post of head of the U.S. administration in 2024.

Forty-three percent of respondents who support the Republican Party want to see Trump as the head of the White House. Florida Governor Ron Desantis was favored by 28% of those polled. Former U.S. Vice President Mike Pence and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley are supported by 7%.

The poll also showed that 37% of Democrats would like to see current U.S. President Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee, while 53% are in favor of nominating another candidate.

The poll was conducted from February 19 to 22. More than a thousand Americans participated in it.

Haley, who served as governor of South Carolina from 2011 to 2017, announced in mid-February that she intends to run for president of the United States in 2024.

Trump announced last Nov. 15 that he would run for president again. Desantis has not yet declared his presidential ambitions, but the possibility of a fight with him for the White House has previously actually been acknowledged by Trump. The incumbent U.S. president, on the other hand, announced plans to fight for re-election as head of state back on November 9, but warned that he would make a final decision only at the beginning of this year.
