The Super Sub will allow you to take underwater walks, keeping up with the dolphins
U-Boat Worx has introduced the Super Sub, a three-seat electric sports submarine with promising features capable of providing an exciting, comfortable underwater journey.
The vessel measures 530 x 309 x 231 cm and weighs 9,000 kg. Maximum diving depth – up to 300 m, battery power capacity (62 kW⋅h) – 8 hours, speed – 8 knots (about 15 km/h).
To find out how good the speed characteristics of the submarine are, experts compare them with the speed of some sea creatures. In particular, it is much slower than that of great white sharks and sailfish, but faster than the speed of bottlenose dolphins.
However, the purpose of the Super Sub is quite different – to make fascinating underwater trips, for example, to sunken ships or coral reefs.
Among the submarine’s innovative features is a movable weight stabilization system. For example, on a steep dive the trim weight in the rear moves forward, shifting the center of gravity. The SHARC controller together with the hydrofoils ensures synchronous operation with the propulsor.
The rear-mounted underwater wings provide effective control on the move, enabling the pilot to make sharp turns and rolls.
Equally important is the MDP function, which prevents the vessel from sinking below the operating depth limit. In this case, when triggered, the submarine automatically rises to the “permitted” depth.
Nothing is yet known about the price of the Super Sub, but there is no doubt that it will be very high.
