According to her, the damage assessment is contained in the documents of the trial of one of the cases concerning rioters in the US Congress. The prosecution intends to try to recover this amount from the defendants: $500 from those who are found guilty of committing less serious offenses, and $2 thousand from those who are under a more serious article.
The publication notes that the principle of calculating this amount is not completely clear. Representatives of the chief architect of the Capitol confirmed that they provided the US Department of Justice with their assessment of the damage, which formed the basis for the department’s calculations.

On January 6, supporters of the previous US president, Republican Donald Trump, broke into the Congress building to prevent the approval of the results of the presidential election.
