U.S. First Lady decorated the White House for the holidays
First Lady Jill Biden found inspiration in the nation’s founding documents when decorating the U.S. president’s residence for the holiday season.
The theme chosen by First Lady Joe Biden was the first words of the U.S. Constitution, “We the People.”
The White House said the holiday decorations represent what unites Americans during the holidays and throughout the year.
For example, a copy of the Declaration of Independence is on display in the White House library.
The Christmas Gingerbread House includes a replica of the Independence Hall building in Philadelphia, where the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution were signed.
New this year is a wooden menorah carved by White House carpenters.
