U.S. basketball coach speaks out about first loss in 17 years at Olympics
Greg Popovich, head coach of the U.S. national basketball team, commented on the team’s first Olympic loss in 17 years.
“I think it’s a little bit wrong if everyone expects the U.S. national team to beat everybody easily. We have to work as hard as other teams. And during those 40 minutes, the opponent acted better than we did.”
At the Tokyo Games, the Americans lost to France with a score of 76-83. The last time the U.S. team lost at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.
