Trump: Russia is disrespecting the U.S. with its rhetoric on nuclear weapons

Former U.S. President Donald Trump said Russia’s leadership was “disrespectful” to his country’s leadership with its rhetoric on nuclear weapons. Speaking to supporters at a rally in Nebraska, Trump said that when he was president he had a negative attitude toward the idea of modernizing U.S. nuclear forces, but that he “had no choice” because other countries were taking similar actions.

“Meanwhile, we have a president who has no idea what’s going on who is shaking hands with the air,” Trump said.

In doing so, Trump alluded to the recent curiosity of Joe Biden, who extended his hand to the void for a handshake after one of his public appearances.

“This happens when Putin talks about nuclear weapons all the time. No one has ever talked about nuclear weapons, you should not talk about them, it is a forbidden word because it is too destructive. Putin, on the other hand, talks about it all the time because he doesn’t respect our leadership,” Trump said.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov pointed out that the risk of nuclear war is real and this danger should not be underestimated; there are many willing to inflate this threat artificially.
