Trump Announces Resignation Of US Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen

Donald Trump fired the head of the United States Secretary of Homeland Security Nielsen.
“Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen will be leaving her position, and I would like to thank her for her service….,” Trump wrote on Twitter and then added “….I am pleased to announce that Kevin McAleenan, the current U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner, will become Acting Secretary for @DHSgov. I have confidence that Kevin will do a great job!”
Nielsen led the MVB at the end of 2017, after the former head of department, John Kelly, went to work at the White House.
Rumors about her resignation have long been spread. Thus, the media have repeatedly written that Trump is unhappy with the actions of Nilsen in the fight against illegal migration. In addition, according to press reports, the Minister of Homeland Security supported the appointment of Ronald Vitiello as head of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), but Trump withdrew his candidacy before being approved by the Senate.
