The Gatorade Smart Gx bottle will tell you when to take another sip
The American company Gatorade introduced a smart water bottle Smart Gx, which helps the user maintain a normal level of hydration and control the recovery process after exercise. In other words, it “tells” the athlete when it is time to take the next sip of water.
Hydration levels are tracked by a special app for iOS, with nutrition and training programs and recovery recommendations. It also monitors a person’s condition if they drink water from other sources.
The Gatorade Smart Gx uses a special sweat patch, which is a small wearable device, as a sensor to monitor hydration levels. It allows users to create a personal “sweating profile,” based on which the app will track sweating. The smart bottle is powered by a USB cable. The Smart Gx, with the exception of the lid, can be washed in the dishwasher.
In addition, the company makes water-soluble capsules to replenish electrolyte and carbohydrate levels that are compatible with the Smart Gx. The smart bottle is already available on the company’s Web site for $70. For free, Gatorade is introducing a patch and a pack of 4 electrolyte capsules of the user’s choice.
