Texas mall shooting kills eight people

Eight people died Saturday in a shooting at a mall in Allen, Texas. Six of them died on the spot, two more on their way to the hospital.

Seven people were hospitalized, three of whom are in extremely serious condition. Information about the shooter’s motives is not provided.

Police officers who were near the center on another call heard gunshots and eliminated the attacker.

The shooting occurred at the Allen Premium Outlets mall. One of the occupants of the building said he heard around 30 gunshots.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has ordered all necessary assistance to local authorities, calling the shooting “a horrific tragedy. “In touch with Mayor Allen, Ken Falk. Offered the state’s full support to local authorities to promptly provide needed assistance and resources,” the governor’s website said in a statement.
