Nearly 5,000 flights were canceled in eastern U.S. due to impending snowfall
Almost 5 thousand flights were canceled in the United States due to the approaching cyclone, which will bring heavy snowfall on the East Coast of the country.
On Friday, more than 1.4 thousand domestic and international flights to or from the U.S. were canceled. On Saturday, more than 3.3 thousand flights have already been cancelled. Information is being constantly updated; number of flights canceled is likely to be even higher.
Most of the impending snowstorm will affect airports in major cities in the eastern United States. These include New York, Boston, Washington, D.C., Atlanta and Charlotte. Forecasters predict that up to 45 cm of snow could fall in some of them overnight from Friday to Saturday and during the day on January 29.
