Nancy Pelosi: The U.S. will provide $600 million for Ukraine’s defense

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said lawmakers are guaranteeing that the $600 million in “defensive weapons” previously approved for Ukraine will be appropriated to fight the unfolding Russian attack.

“What we’re doing for Ukraine is providing humanitarian aid to help people; sending $600 million in defensive weapons to Ukraine so they can fight their own fight,” Pelosi said in response to questions from reporters in San Francisco.

The funds will be spent to buy defensive weapons to defend against Russian invasion.
