The National Museum of China in Beijing came second, the third – the Metropolitan Museum in New York.
The Vatican Museums and The modern Tate gallery in London closed the five.
Also in the top ten are the National Gallery in London, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, the State Hermitage Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
