More than 40 percent of Americans surveyed rated the situation at the southern border as an emergency

Over 40% of Americans assess the situation at the southern border of the United States as an emergency because of the influx of illegal migrants. According to the study, 41% of respondents believe that the situation at the border because of illegal immigrants is an emergency, 37% said about a “serious problem”.

About 8 out of 10 survey participants believe that inaction of the U.S. Congress is to blame for this situation, and 7 out of 10 respondents blame the administration of U.S. President Joe Biden for the lack of security measures at the border.

Earlier, former US President Donald Trump said that the blood of many victims of crimes committed by illegal migrants lies on the current US President Joe Biden. According to him, a new type of crime has emerged in the United States, which he called “Biden migrant crimes”.

Trump promised to immediately close the country’s border if he wins the presidential election in November.

The situation with illegal migration has been a point of contention between southern states and the federal government for several years. The most tense situation has developed in the state of Texas, which is headed by Republican Governor Greg Abbott, who advocates tough measures to stop illegal migration and speaks out against the policy of the current U.S. administration in this matter. Fighting the influx of illegal immigrants, Abbott began sending them by bus to major American cities, including Washington, D.C., New York and Chicago.
