Moderna has provided an update on the booster dose of its coronavirus vaccine

Moderna has provided an update on the 50-microgram booster dose of its vaccine, which says it increases antibodies against the omicron strain of coronavirus by 37 times.

“There is data proving that the currently sanctioned Moderna booster vaccine from COVID-19 can increase neutralizing antibodies 37-fold,” said company CEO Stephan Bansel. A 100-microgram dose not yet widely used has also been tested, showing an 83-fold increase over the initial two-dose course. The company continues to test and study possible side effects.

On Nov. 27, Moderna said it is working on a more potent booster vaccine that can better protect the body against new mutations of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, similar to the discovered “omicron” strain. On Dec. 18, Dan Steiner, head of the company’s European division, said the development could be done in less than three months.
