Kanye West will acquire social networking site Parler, owned by Parlement Technologies. It was announced in a press release from the company on Monday.
“Parlement Technologies announced today that it has entered into an agreement to sell Parler to Ye, formerly known as Kanye West,” the press release said.
“In a world where conservative views are considered controversial, we must ensure our right to free expression,” Kanye West.
Parler is positioning itself as an alternative to the social network Twitter and guarantor of free speech on the Internet. The platform is widespread among supporters of former U.S. President Donald Trump and gained a jump in popularity after his defeat in the 2020 presidential election.
