Jen Psaki: "None of us is planning a tourist trip to Russia.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki commented on the Russian government’s decision to announce sanctions against the United States: the Kremlin’s “black list” includes President Joe Biden and a number of other American politicians and government officials who will now be unable to enter Russia.
“Officially, the president’s last name is spelled Biden Jr. so they could impose sanctions on (the president’s) father, may he rest in peace,” Psaki sarcastically noted, adding that “none of us are planning a tourist trip to Russia. None of us have bank accounts there that we could lose access to, so let’s move on.”
In addition to Joe Biden, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, CIA head William Burns, national security adviser Jake Sullivan, and former Secretary of State and former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton have been subject to Russian sanctions.
Jen Psaki also reported that President Joe Biden has signed the federal government’s spending bill, which includes $13.6 billion in aid to Ukraine.
“I expect him to give details in the next 24 hours,” Psaki said, speaking at a White House press briefing.
