Hollywood actor and comedian Jim Carrey is 60
He once said: “If my movie career didn’t work out, I’d still be working at the Doughasco steel mill.” Fortunately, everything worked out the way it was supposed to, and the world got to know the amazing actor Jim Carrey.
Jim was born into the most ordinary family in the small Canadian town of Newmarket. Mom Kathleen was once a singer, but with the advent of children devoted herself to family. The father of the boy worked as an accountant, and in his spare time playing the saxophone. It was a loving Catholic family with four children. Jim has two older sisters and an older brother, John.
Life changed drastically when the family’s father, Percy Curry, was laid off from his job. Jim was already in high school at the time. In search of a better life, the family had to move to Scarborough, where Percy got a job as a security guard at the Titanium Wheels factory on the outskirts of Toronto. So-so job, the company made steel rims and tires, but the Kerry family had no choice. After school, Jim and his sisters and brother worked part-time at the same company, cleaning, scrubbing floors and toilets.
It was very hard work, so one day the family decided to quit their jobs. For a long time, Jim and his family lived in monstrous conditions in an RV, until Percy found a stable job and the family moved to Burlington. There the future actor lived for eight years, working at the Doughasco steel mill. In fact, he would probably still be there, if fate had not turned the other way.
