Driver who drove into gate near White House accused of attempted assassination of Biden

The driver of the van that rammed the fences near the White House in Washington was accused of intending to kill U.S. President Joe Biden.

The police charged the detainee with multiple counts of attempting to kill the head of state, the U.S. Deputy Prime Minister, and members of their families. Including the man is accused of assault with a dangerous weapon, reckless driving, as well as damage to federal property and trespassing on protected property. The driver’s identity has not been released at this time.

The investigation is being conducted by police, the United States Secret Service (USSS), and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). As previously reported, on the night of May 23, a truck rammed a gate near the White House grounds in the United States. Police said no one was injured in the incident. Law enforcement officials added that a swastika flag was found in the cab of the intruder.

Bomb squad officers searched the truck after the crash, no explosives or incendiary devices were found. The investigation into the case continues.
