Desantis believes he could be elected president of the United States for two terms

Florida Governor Ron Desantis, who has announced that he will run for president of the United States in 2024, believes that he has a chance to be elected for two terms, unlike former White House leader Donald Trump.

“Voters understand that they need somebody who can stay in office for two terms. They need someone who can win, and win big. So I think a lot of people are going to consider someone like me, who has proven himself,” Desantis said. The Florida governor noted that Trump, his main rival in the Republican Party primary, would only be able to hold onto office for one term in his opinion.

Desantis announced his candidacy for the nation’s highest office on May 24. Trump has announced he will run for president in November 2022. According to a poll conducted in April by NBC America, at least 31% of Republican voters would support Desantis’ candidacy in the primary. Meanwhile, 46% favored Trump as the nominee for the nation’s highest office in the upcoming election.
