Britain successfully tested a prototype of a flying car
London-based Bellwether Industries has reported the first successful tests of an eVTOL aircraft. The startup plans to bring the first vehicles to the market by 2028.
Volar is the name of the British car, whose design is a combination of an airplane and a car. Although the model should eventually be about 3.2 meters wide and have four seats, the existing prototype is currently much smaller. These limitations were necessary for financial reasons.
However, this did not stop the first public demonstration. It took place during this year’s Dubai Airshow and, according to initial reports, was quite successful. The remotely piloted prototype climbed to a height of 4 meters and flew at a speed of 40 km/h. The company guarantees that the fully completed product easily reaches a height of 900 meters and will be able to reach a speed of 217 km / h. The flight time will be about 90 minutes.
