Biden: U.S. has made progress against coronavirus, but has not yet turned the tide
The United States has made important progress in combating the spread of the coronavirus in the country, but has not yet been able to turn the tide. That was the statement made by U.S. President Joe Biden at the White House on Thursday.
“We are talking about important progress, but now is not the time to let up. There is still much work to be done, and we are going through a vital period trying to turn the tide on COVID-19. Nationwide, daily covid cases are down 47% and hospitalizations are down 38% over the last six weeks,” Biden said.
According to the president’s information, infections are down in 39 states and hospitalizations are down in 38 states. Meanwhile, 66 million U.S. residents remain unvaccinated.
“That’s still an unacceptably high number,” Biden added.
