At least 14 people killed in Mississippi tornado

A tornado in Mississippi killed at least 14 people.

The tornado was first reported in the Silver City area around 8:50 p.m. local time. From there, the tornado moved into the northwestern part of the state, leaving more than 100 miles of destruction in its path.

“We have stepped up medical support, bringing in more ambulances and other emergency supplies for those affected,” state Governor Tate Reeves wrote on Twitter.
