Amazon plans to hire 125,000 logistics employees in the U.S.
American company Amazon intends to hire another 125,000 employees in the U.S. to work in warehouses and delivery services. David Bozeman, vice president of Amazon Delivery Services, told Reuters in an interview published Tuesday.
“These 125,000 employees are needed to keep up with our growth in the logistics industry,” Bozeman explained.
The new hires will work at 100 new transportation and logistics infrastructure facilities the company plans to open in September in the United States. Amazon will be hiring candidates for the vacancies in the near future, but the vice president of the business unit did not say when exactly.
In addition, according to Bozeman, the corporation will increase the starting rate for workers in the United States to more than $ 18 per hour.
