Acer launches production of notebooks and tablets made of antibacterial materials
Acer engineers have developed a series of laptops and tablets with housings made of materials capable of resisting harmful bacteria. Accessories have recently been added to the “antimicrobial” line.
The creation of these materials used silver ions and antibacterial glass Corning Gorilla Glass. In particular, silver ions are included in the coating of the case, keyboard, display, touchpad, hinge and fingerprint reader, as well as a number of other parts.
Silver ions (Ag+) are applied to the Corning Gorilla Glass surface of displays and touchpads, providing long-lasting antibacterial protection and preventing stains and odors. The lineup of devices with antibacterial properties includes the Acer TravelMate Spin P4 notebook, Enduro Urban N3 and Urban T3 tablet.
The Acer TravelMate Spin P4 features an 11th generation Intel Core i7 vPro processor and a 14-inch Full HD touchscreen display. The laptop can unfold in several configurations – stand, “tent” and tablet. The weight of the device is 1.53 kg, the thickness of 17.9 mm. The battery provides notebook work for 13.5 hours. Up to 80% of the power source will be able to charge in an hour. The price is 1120 euros.
