Head of U.S. Central Command visits Kabul airport

Gen. Kenneth Mackenzie, head of U.S. Central Command, visited Kabul airport to inspect its defensive measures and evacuation progress, according to a statement issued by U.S. Central Command.

Mackenzie said in a statement issued by U.S. Central Command.

“Today I was able to assess the situation at Hamid Karzai International Airport.Hamid Karzai and discuss it with airport security officers,” Gen. Kenneth Mackenzie said in the statement.
