In the US, more than 56 thousand new cases of COVID-19 have been identified

The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in the United States over the past day increased by 56,381, 1,038 people died, according to Johns Hopkins University, which summarizes data from federal and local authorities, as well as the media and other open sources.

A day earlier, doctors in the United States recorded more than 58 thousand cases of COVID-19 infection and 854 deaths.

The largest daily increase in coronavirus infection in the United States – about 300 thousand-was registered at the beginning of the year. In January, the country also recorded the maximum daily increase in COVID deaths – more than 4.3 thousand deaths. Such indicators were reported by Hopkins University.

In total, since the beginning of the pandemic in the United States, more than 32.3 million infected people have been identified, and more than 576 thousand patients with COVID-19 have died.
